Well it's true what they say....the third time's the charm! Due to inclement weather, and sick kids, we weren't sure this shoot was ever going to happen! The first time we never even connected. The second time we were rained out within a few shots. Finally on the third time we met up at this family's local park. What a brilliant idea that was! An area free of other people (other than the occasional dog walker), an area that the kids were comfortable in, and an area where I could capture this family just "being". I am so pleased with these photos, and I hope everyone else shares in my delight!

This family was so much fun to shoot! Even though it's been a couple years since I did maternity photos and baby photos of Karis, it felt very natural to photograph them on a warm June evening. Luckily the weather was perfect for photos (although we could have done with a few less mosquitoes, right Joleen?) because we had scattered thunderstorms that evening. It was pouring rain at my place when I ran to the car with my gear, and I drove through rain most of the way to St. Vital Park! At the park however, we were blessed with sunny skies and barely a sprinkle of rain. I'm looking forward to meeting the newest member of this awesome family! Enjoy the photos!
Oh this sweet baby girl! I thoroughly enjoyed photographing her...in fact the time whizzed by for both myself and her momma! It's always so special to photograph my friends' babies, but I love it even more when they bring special items to use in the photos. With Lanna, we used a blanket one of her grandmothers had made for her, as well as a special sweater that we also used (but with blue buttons!) in her big brother's photos a couple years ago. Enjoy the photos!
On a surprisingly cool May afternoon, I met up with Darryl, Ali and Eden to do some family photos. Since they hadn't had any photos taken since Eden was born, they figured it was time! We went to a neighborhood park and we were able to get some good shots. Hopefully I will be photographing them for many years to come!
